Camping While Awesome
Bring your car, bring your camera, bring your sleeping bag and warm-ass clothes, and meet up with us at Laguna Seca during the Pre-Reunion for #campingwhileawesome. It's like the old days when everyone parks around the track with their picnic set up, following the action with their hand crank cameras, capping snaps of the cars as they fly by. It's awesome, and the more the merrier!
In conjunction with the Weiss Watch Company and Beeline Coffee, Driving While Awesome presents the premiere of CRR 2018: The Movie. This short film chronicles the 2018 running of the Coastal Range Rally by DWA!
We'd also like to encourage everyone to bring a vehicle with "sense of occasion" as we hope to have an evening version of Cars and Coffee. So, bring your interesting car, come enjoy some food and drink while helping us celebrate the Coastal Range Rally...it'll be a good time. We look forward to seeing you there.
Our friends Jon with the 1965 GTO and Marvin with the 1969 Camaro, both from the CRR2018 rally, signed up for an NCRC track day at Laguna Seca on Sunday May 27th. We may or may not be able to make it because a couple of us are traveling, but it would be cool to see others out there with them
Check out the NCRC page to sign up! http://www.ncracing.org/events.php
Register for the event with your 1980-1999 car for $25, and you get 2 access passes to all that Hooptie-Con has to offer.

What is the Coastal Range Rally?
The Coastal Range Rally of 2018 is a three-day event, Feb 23rd - 25th throughout Central California.
Technically the "Coastal Range", is the name given to the mountains lining the Pacific Coast of North America, spanning from Alaska and Canada, down to Southern California and Mexico. From the ice fields of British Columbia to the mountains suspending Big Sur, this term “Coastal Range” invokes thoughts of rugged terrain, ocean vistas and classic scenes of western life. It’s no coincidence that the roads built to navigate these areas have a reputation all their own, some of which have been recognized as All-American roads no less.
If you have a penchant for interesting cars and you happen to live near the Coastal Range, you already have quite a bit in common with us at Driving While Awesome.
There are plenty of vintage rallies throughout CA, but none of us at DWA had cars that qualify...so we started our own. We are all about diversity and we have had everything from a 1962 Bristol to a 2007 Ruf RGT participate. We’d like to offer you an opportunity to join us for a weekend tour of some of our favorite parts of California.
No horsepower figures needed, this is not a race. All cars from the beginning of time-now are considered, but... we have standards. We want cars with a sense of occasion. Sell us on why you and your car should be on the Coastal Range Rally.
