Taking a break at Pigeon Point Lighthouse

Over the years I have owned about a dozen "old cars". What is an "old car" you ask? When I first started driving in 1996 I would consider anything pre-1982 as an old car, but now I think a car has to be pre-1995 to ve considered an old car.

I remember when I bought my 1980 Porsche 928 in 2005 being worried that it wouldn't make it the 120 miles to my house. The 928 made it home and soon after I was taking it on 800 mile trips to Southern California. The 928 earned my trust and the more I drive it, the more I trusted it.

With newer cars like my 2010 VW or 2005 Acura, Just expect them to be reliable and go anywhere.  My 944 has been a reliable 1-3 day a week commuter for the past 2 1/2 years, until the head gasket blew a few months ago. I had the head gasket replaced a couple weeks ago and just drove it to work for the first time since. For some reason I was scared to drive it to work (is it really fixed, did other things break feom sitting for an extended period?). It ran great on my 130 mile round trip commute, but I still don't have full confidence. I'm going to commute in the 944 tomorrow and soon I will teust it once again, but it has to earn my trust.
